  Microgreens
Posted by: Shanaz - 11-09-2020, 11:08 AM - Forum: Everything Organic - Replies (2)

Does anyone know what microgreens are ?

If you don't here is what it is.

Microgreens are mini power-bomb versions of their mature self. They are packed with concentrated levels of vitamins & nutrient, about five times more than the mature plant. Most microgreens are ready for harvest within 12 to 14 days and packed with nutrition and intense flavours imitating their mature counterparts.

Microgreens should not be confused with sprouts. Sprouts are consumed along with the seed; in microgreens, you only consume the leaves and the stem.

You can either rummage through your pulses cabinet or, you can order the seeds online. The most common types of microgreens are mustard, fenugreek, coriander, fennel and basil seeds, you can also use dried peas and mung beans.

So, which microgreen are you growing today?

  Onion oil for hair growth
Posted by: Aarati - 11-08-2020, 06:28 PM - Forum: Everything Organic - No Replies

Onion oil contains nutrition that nourishes hair follicles, increases volume, shine and improves hair strength. Using onion oil also promotes new hair growth.

How to prepare onion oil

Take one big onion and blend it in a grinder.

Blend the onion and two tbsp of coconut oil.

Now in a pan, add half a cup of coconut oil and the onion paste.

Now fry the paste along with the oil on low flame until it browns. Once done, remove
from flame and let it cool.

Using a cotton cloth strain the mixture into a glass container. You can use this oil for 6 months.

Apply this oil on your scalp and massage well. Then wrap a warm towel around your head and cover it with a shower cap to hold the heat in. Doing this will help open the pores in your scalp and allow the oil the penetrate deeper, conditioning and nourishing your hair.

  Refreshing cucumber infused water
Posted by: Shadowfaxx - 11-07-2020, 10:28 AM - Forum: Everything Organic - Replies (1)

Drinking water is so difficult for many of us, especially for me. unless I'm keeping a bottle in front of me I don't remember to drink and at times water seems so uninteresting to drink. So from time to time so I don't get bored of drinking water I usually drink cucumber-infused water and below is my recipe.

Things you need:

1. 1ltr bottle
2. 1 cucumber sliced round
3. water

Just put the sliced cucumber into the bottle and pour the water into it. I sometimes also add a few mint leaves and two to three slices of lemon.

This water will keep you hydrated and refreshed throughout the day.

  Homemade lip scrub
Posted by: Aarati - 11-06-2020, 11:51 AM - Forum: Everything Organic - Replies (1)

With winters approaching, lips tend to chap a lot. It's essential to treat your lips well not just for its overall health, but also to ensure that regular use of lipsticks doesn't damage your lips.

Things you’ll need:

1 level tsp of sugar
Two drops of coconut oil

In the palm of your hand mix the sugar and oil and scrub your lips with this mixture. The coarseness of the sugar will exfoliate your lips removing the dead skin and the oil will help moisturize your lips. This is what I use to ensure that my lips don’t suffer for the lipsticks I like to wear and they stay healthy and soft.

The lockdown brought with it a mount of positives and negatives; and one of the positives it brought is the increase of interest in home farming. Many a Gen Ys & Gen Zs used that time to get their hands dirty and produce clean food.

  Egg Face Mask
Posted by: Shadowfaxx - 11-05-2020, 01:17 PM - Forum: Everything Organic - No Replies

This is my go-to face mask when I feel like my skin needs to feel renewed.

Things you will need:

1 white of an egg
Face tissue
Makeup brush or a brush you can use for application

Direction:

Separate the yolk from the white and in a bowl whisk the egg white.
Whisking the egg will ensure that the egg white doesn’t slip off your face.
Using the makeup brush apply the egg white onto your face with a focus on the areas where blackheads are more.
After applying the first layer of egg white, tear up pieces of tissue paper and place it onto your face and apply the second layer of egg white over the tissue paper. Make sure to place the paper on top of the other so that it covers your face like a mask and you can just peel it off.
Once the paper is dry, starting from the end peel off the mask and wash your face with cold water.

Egg white is believed to have skin tightening and effects and absorbs excess oil from the skin. And this face peel will leave your skin feeling refreshing and tightened.

Red Onions:
